The Centre for Physics of Fundamental Interactions (CFIF) is a centre of IST (Instituto Superior Técnico, part of the University of Lisbon, ULisboa) that promotes research in the areas of Physics and Mathematical Physics.

The main areas of CFIF are Hadronic, Nuclear and Particle Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Differential Geometry and Relativity. The research activity at CFIF has been centred on the study of non-perturbative phenomena. Presently in hadronic, nuclear and particle physics, CFIF has Projects on methods and non-perturbative phenomena in the standard model, nuclear physics beyond the drip-lines and the study of exotic nuclei. In the area of condensed matter physics, we have Projects in the areas of spintronics, cold atoms, superconductivity and quantum information.

CFIF is a Centre funded by the Multi-Year Funding Program for R&D Units of the "Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia" (FCT, Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology).
